"Lipstick Traces On A Cigarette" by RoxXy Xhaos (Xenia Ende & Rosh Zeeba) encompasses video art, spatial and object art and performative stage design. In terms of aesthetics, the form flirts with Trash Art / Camp and High Art. Anchors are cinema of transgression, drag culture, dandies and boredom, showgirls without dances, eerie doppelgängers and political shizophrenia, authorship and sampling. It is about applying theory to one's own body, unintentional tracing, exaggeration and withdrawal, geometry and colors, icons and animism. The work is inspired by Greil Marcus' "Lipstick Traces" - especially with regard to the interplay of gnosis & revolution in the Situationist International - as well as by Silvia Federici's "Caliban and the Witch".

About

Xenia Ende works as a transdisciplinary artist.

She thinks and writes and dances and screams.

It is about caution, joy in playing, improvisation, correspondences, poetry, beauty, feminism, communism, cheek, humor, twisting, drag, queering and gimmickry.

She calls what she does "Neurotrans*verse Performation" an invented parenthesis consisting of neurodiversity, trans-gender / -sexuality, as well as performance and perforation.

She works in artistic and political collectives as well as in bands.
